🏹 Compound Bow: Full Overview
Compound Bow — a ranged weapon in Sons of the Forest, significantly improved over the crafted bow. It's an upgraded version of the regular bow, offering superior damage and accuracy. Ideal for stealth operations and silent attacks.
How to Use
- To use the compound bow effectively, hold down the attack button to fully draw the string before releasing. This gives maximum power and accuracy. Partial draws reduce damage and arrow range.
Aiming Tips
- Aim for the head: headshots maximize damage. Even unarmored enemies can be killed with one arrow.
- Shoot the legs: shooting some enemies in the legs can weaken them, such as "Natives" and "Fingers".
Effectiveness
- Body damage with carbon fiber arrows:
- • "Native" (No Armor) — 1 hit vs 3 hits with crafted bow + stone arrows
- • "Puffy" — 3 hits vs 7 hits with crafted bow + stone arrows
- • "Fingers" — 7 hits vs 18 hits with crafted bow + stone arrows
- • "Legsy" — 16 hits vs 42 hits with crafted bow + stone arrows
- • "Twins" — 7 hits vs 19 hits with crafted bow + stone arrows
- • "Demon" — 7 hits vs 17 hits with crafted bow + stone arrows
- Keep in mind — headshot damage is multiplied by more than 3.3 times.
Combat Effectiveness
- The compound bow excels at silent attacks, making it ideal for stealthily clearing caves and camps.
- It's especially effective with carbon fiber arrows.
- Compared to the crafted bow, the compound bow offers significantly better damage and accuracy at long ranges.
Inventory and Quick Access
- To equip the compound bow, open your inventory and select it from the weapons section. For quick access, add it to your quick-select menu or assign a hotkey.
💎 Additional Tips
- The compound bow is a weapon for patient and accurate players. It's not suitable for mass combat due to the draw time. Use it to pick off enemies from long range or for hunting. In close combat or against crowds, switch to the katana or shotgun. Always carry a spare supply of arrows (at least 10-15) and remember that arrows can be retrieved after battle. A fully drawn string is the key to a precise and powerful shot. Take your time, aim carefully, and make every shot count.
