Briefly: 1) Find the entrance to the cave. 2) Turn right as soon as possible. 3) Neutralize two pale skinny aborigines. 4) Turn right and go down the cable. 5) Pick up a modern axe in the secret department. The way to the Cave: First, run to the beach, from which the waterway leads to the yacht. Rotate your character's camera so it's facing the right slope down the central hill (Fig. 1). Run forward until you reach the lake—go around it on the right side until you reach the native huts. Stand in the center, near the fire, and turn your back to the lake (Fig. 2). Keep running until you see the cave entrance (Fig. 3). Be careful: bats might fly out and suddenly startle you. Actions inside the cave: After entering the cave, go ahead until you come across an aboriginal building — a skull on a stick. Break it, make a club (stick + skull) and use it for battle if there is no better weapon. Then, at the first turn to the right, 2 pale skinny aborigines will be waiting, they must be neutralized. After neutralization, turn right, walk 5-10 conditional meters, then go down the cable to the secret part of the cave (Fig. 3). Actions inside the cave: After entering the cave, proceed forward until you come across an indigenous structure—a skull on a stick. Break it, craft a club (stick + skull), and use it in battle if you don't have a better weapon. Further on, at the first right turn, two pale, skinny indigenous people will be waiting; they must be neutralized (Fig. 4). After neutralizing them, turn right, walk 5-10 meters, then descend the rope into the secret part of the cave (Fig. 5). Modern Axe: full review - The modern axe is considered one of the best tools in The Forest for cutting wood and effective close combat. It is noticeably superior to the starting hatchet from the plane in key parameters, which makes it a priority find for most survivalists. Resource extraction - A tree is cut down in 5-9 strokes. This is the highest score among all the axes in the game. For comparison, an airplane axe requires 15-18 strokes. The difference is critical when building a large base. Combat use - A modern axe deals 7 damage points per normal attack. The attack speed is lower than that of an axe from an airplane, but it is offset by a higher ability to knock enemies off their feet. The block can withstand significant damage — reliable protection in close combat. General assessment - The modern axe is a very popular weapon in the community. Despite its average damage and low attack speed, its versatility and effectiveness when cutting wood make it an indispensable tool at all stages of the game — from the early days to exploring deep caves. Additional advice - If desired, the axe can be improved with a cloth with ignition — this adds an arson effect to enemies, which is especially useful against packs of pale cannibals. It is recommended to always have a modern axe in your inventory as the main tool for resources and a reliable melee weapon. 1) The cave contains two enemies, get ready to fight. 2) You don't need any additional tools to find it. 3) It is advisable to have with you the means to restore health. 4) The bodies of defeated enemies can be set on fire, and after a while you can pick up the bones from which you can make bone armor.
